Kat Stephens has been teaching voice for over 20 years.  Educating all ages and abilities, specialising in young, developing voices. Kat has also encouraged and trained singers to become singing teachers over the years.

Kat’s mission is to inspire, educate and motivate her singing pupils to build their confidence and self-belief by developing their understanding of their unique, individual instrument and fulfil their true vocal potential.

Kat began her singing teaching journey, enrolling in the Speech Level Singing Teacher Training Program, where she met Julie Gossage.  Kat and Julie have been closely affiliated as colleagues and friends for many years.  Kat is absolutely thrilled to officially join the Vocal Balance family as an accredited teacher in January 2026.

After teaching at top Performing Arts schools around the country (including Redroofs Theatre School and Jackie Palmer Stage School) Kat founded her own independent Academy for Performing Arts – Aspire Arts Academy in 2014, where she led a team of specialist teachers in delivering Musical Theatre training, and directed two incredible productions of Lion King Jr & Aladdin Jr.  Kat continues to act as a mentor for Aspire Arts Academy, offering her guidance and expertise.

Kat is a singer-songwriter, ukulele enthusiast and ladies singing group leader -The Songbirds.  Kat has performed professionally in Jazz, Cabaret and Musical Theatre settings, and has featured as a solo artist in big bands, quartets and duos, as well as recording her own material/jingles for radio. In collaboration with Fitdog Recording Studios, Kat has managed multiple song-writing & recording projects for young people, including events to raise money for the local community. Kat launched ‘FunRaiseSing’, which invited school children to write and record their own songs, of positivity and joy.  The proceeds were donated to Children in Need and the Towcester Youth Coffee House. The songs created were then performed live at a state-of-the-art theatre with input from music industry specialists.

Kat has exciting plans for 2026, expanding her ‘Vitality Voices’ enterprise, delivering singing for wellbeing in schools, charitable services & local businesses.  Singing with ‘Vocal Balance’ is good for the body, mind and soul what could be better for anyone’s wellbeing!!
