Richard Halton is a London-based vocal coach, performer, and co-founder of Vocal Balance, specialising in working with professional singers across musical theatre, pop, and contemporary genres.
Richard has performed leading roles on some of the UK’s most prestigious stages. His musical theatre credits include Harry Easter in Street Scene at the London Coliseum (West End), The Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera at His Majesty’s, Danny in Girl Crazy on tour for Scottish Opera, Ravenal in Show Boat at the London Palladium, as well as other credits for The Almeida, The Young Vic and The National Theatre.
Today, Richard works extensively with performers and teachers both in the UK and internationally and he regularly collaborates with singers across multiple countries through online training and mentoring. He brings a wealth of experience as an educator, teaching a variety of singers undergraduates, postgraduates, and industry professionals on a one-to-one basis, as well as directing choirs and musicals, and delivering workshops and summer schools.
As co-founder of Vocal Balance, he helps singers develop expressive, technically secure, and sustainable voices combining his performance experience with extensive educational expertise.
