Helen has 25+ years’ experience in vocal teaching and coaching.  She studied music as a child in Ireland, as an undergraduate at York University and as a postgraduate at Trinity College of Music.  She is Senior Examiner at the prestigious Trinity College exam board.

Her work with the younger generation has seen many successes with students achieving places at the UK's conservatoires, Music Theatre schools and Oxbridge choral scholarships.  She has also worked for the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain.  Adult students are many and varied; professionals achieving success within the industry, others building the confidence to join a community choir, and clients facing vocal challenges both physical and psychological.

Helen’s piano-playing skills allow her to also work as an accompanist and repetiteur.

In her professional singing career, Helen has performed at many of the major venues throughout the UK and Europe with repertoire ranging from the Renaissance to the present day.  She has made many classical recordings, most notably with Harry Christophers, Richard Hickox and Steuart Bedford, and has worked in the session world on film soundtracks such as Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean and Shrek, to name but a few.  Her operatic experience includes the première of 'Gawain' (Birtwistle) at Covent Garden, 'The Trojans' (Berlioz) and 'Semele' (Handel) with English National Opera, ‘La Passion de Simone’ (Saariaho) in New York and ‘Peter Grimes’ (Britten) in Beijing.  She has sung with many notable groups such as the Choir of the Enlightenment, The Sixteen, Aurora Nova, Metro Voices and London Voices.
