We are delighted to welcome voice, dialect and presentational coach Marianne Samuels to our Vocal Balance teacher training team. Marianne will be providing masterclasses and coaching to our selected group of trainee teachers.
Marianne Samuels - Voice and dialect coach
Marianne Samuels is a passionate and versatile voice, dialect and presentation coach with over 15 years experience in many areas of the spoken voice. She leads presentation training, voice and accent/dialect coaching at a professional level. Her interest in effective communication, accents/dialects, pronunciation training, public speaking and voice development has lead to her to work with high flying professionals including actors, TV personalities and boardroom executives of blue chip companies. She graduated with a Master’s degree in Voice Studies from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama; London’s highly acclaimed, world renowned institution for voice training. She holds a BA Hons in Media Arts from Royal Holloway University of London and a diploma in leadership and management certified by the Chartered Management Institute. Marianne has trained with top pedagogues in the field of voice.
Alongside her freelance business Marianne teaches and lectures at drama schools and universities and is a freelance voice, text and actor's support coach for the Royal Shakespeare Company, associate lecturer at Derby University and head dialect coach at Stagebox Management. As a theatre dialect coach credits include Moonlight and Magnolias (Nottingham Playhouse), Private Peaceful (Nottingham Playhouse), Boar (Nottingham Playhouse). A Christmas Carol (RSC), Acting Alone (Derby Theatre and Nottingham Playhouse), The Vagina Monologues (Newark Palace Theatre), Hundreds and Thousands (Buckle for Dust/English Touring Company), Larkrise to Candleford (Finborough Theatre) and Cotton Wool (The Royal Court). Marianne is one of the founding UK artists in EVDC, a vocal dance company. With over 12 years experience in television she has been fortunate to provide voice overs, coach presenters, business professionals and lead workshops on effective communication skills and voice care awareness.
Marianne’s aim is to promote a wholesome, truthfully clear voice in individuals by encouraging a balanced use of the body and mind. Marianne is also a dancer, actor, singer and yoga teacher which informs her holistic approach to voice.
